Description: For sale is a Vintage Acrylic Obelisk encased Pharaoh King Tut/Selket Medallion. It is approx. 6.75" tall and 2.25 inches wide at the base. The medallion depicts the Pharoah Tutankhamun on one side and images of the Egyptian goddess Selket on the other. Selket is an ancient Egyptian goddess associated with protection, healing, and magic. She is often depicted as a woman with a scorpion on her head or simply as a scorpion. Her name translates to something like "She who causes the throat to breathe," reflecting her role in providing relief from venomous stings and bites.Selket was one of the four goddesses who guarded the canopic jars used in mummification. In King Tutankhamun’s tomb, she specifically protected the jar that held the deceased’s intestines, which were overseen by the funerary deity Qebehsenuef. The obelisk and medallion are in excellent condition. See photos for details.
