Description: Vintage Bronze Metal Horse Statue, Sculpture, on Wood Wooden Base. Measures: 11" Wide Base x 5" Deep x 9 3/4" Tall. Very Heavy 7.4 Pounds! This is a very unique piece. There is a wire wrapped around the neck because the two sides of the horse are not fully attached. The horse is secured to the base. It appears that this piece was cast but perhaps never fully completed. Note the sprue marks on the top edge of the piece under the plastic saddle. Sprues are the tubes or vents that allow the bronze to flow in during the casting process. These are usually cut off and ground away. Also the seam is usually welded together and ground and polished. The piece is lovely as it stands or one could have it welded & polished.
