Description: This is a preowned vintage 1970’s Carl Schlieper large sodbuster knife with the three-eye, made in Solingen Germany and is marked with D.R.G.M. and 1423923. The knife isa single hammer forged, carbon steel, drop point blade. The blade has no damage, but has the standard patina that carbon steel blades of this age get. Proper cleaning would most likely be removed this patina. The lock has a great snap and there is no wabble in the blade. One wood handle scale has a crack that runs from the rivet to the scales end, on this same scale there is a small dent on the knife bottom side near the rivet, these small defects do not hurt the function of the knife, the remaining handle has no chips, or deep scratches or cracks. (see the photo) The knife measures approximately 10 ½” open and 5 ¾” closed. The blade itself measures approximately 4 ¾” long. The knife has a sharp edge now, but you may want to sharpen it to meet your requirements. This is a vintage pocketknife that has a lot of life still left in it.
