The center diamond in this ring is exceptional--it's super fiery and clean and literally "twinkles." If you've been searching for that perfect vintage diamond engagement ring but do not want to pay estate jewelry store prices, don't pass this one up! The center diamond is set in a white gold head with fishtail prongs at the corners. The white gold really showcases the brilliance of the diamond. It's an old European cut with a very slightly open culet, measuring 5.12 x 3 mm deep, which calculates to approximately .50 ct. This is a VERY bright, white, high quality diamond. It's accented on each side by a single-cut diamond, approximately .02 ct each, which add an additional .04 ctw to the ring, for a total of about .54 ctw. I have shown this with a diamond wedding band in the photos just as reference--WEDDING BAND IS NOT INCLUDED. The face measures 3/16" top to bottom and the head sits up 3/16" off the hand. The ring is hallmarked 14k, weighs 2.6 grams, is a size 7.5 and can be sized by your jeweler. This fine antique diamond engagement ring is in excellent preowned condition.**Because of different gold testing practices, (traditional acid and stone test vs. eBay's Authenticity Guarantee electronic gold testing machine), items stamped 14k may read or actually be between 13.5k-15k gold. Until 1981, manufacturers of jewelry could use gold that was 13.5 karat or higher and round off, thus still stamping it 14k.
