Description: This is a classic Favorite No 5 cast iron skillet. Favorite skillets were only made for a few years, 1916 to 1935 and are now about 90 to 100 years old. The cooking surface has patches of very fine etching from corrosion and hints of light utensil scores. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over the smooth surface. The pan sits flat on glass with only the very slightest of wobble. No chips, cracks or repairs. Very slight wear from gentle use.This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved food grade lye bath. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. It is ready to be seasoned and used. It will be very hard to find a better #7 skillet.
