Description: This is a Vintage George Wostenholm & Sons Sheffield IXL Straight Razor with a Box. The box might not be a Matching Box; it is a composite box with no name and both ends are blown out (see photos). Features: 1. The razor is 5-3/8" scales length; 5/32" thick at the top rail; 5/8" wide including top rail. 2. The shank front says, "George Wostenholm & Sons Celebrated IXL Razor Washington Works Sheffield"(see photos). 3. The blade and shank has some darkening and some on the shank is active rust (see photos). The blade has no nicks might need a little honing. 4. The scales are a yellow; might be Bakelite or other composite (see photos); the razor has a large pin away from the pivot end and an even larger one at the pivot end (see photos). 5. The box with the razor may not be the original and has no name; it is blown out at both ends like most older razor boxes (see photos #6; #7). Note: The razor is pre-owned and used but not abused, but we don't assign a level of condition. You must see all of the photos (use the eBay zoom tool) as they are considered part of the description and make your own decision on condition. This is a straight razor with nice scales and a unique composite material box that has both ends missing. It is ready to go with just a little honing and will service you well.
