PROVENANCE: THIS IS A VERY RARE PHOTO THAT WAS PART OF A COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS THAT WERE TAKEN IN HAITI IN THE MID to LATE 1970's. The photographer, James Wilson , was an official photographer of the US American Aid embassy. He began his career in the early 1960's and started began his professional career after graduating from Howard University in Washington DC. Many of his photos are of subjects in the US but he also travelled to West Africa along with Haiti and many other parts of the world. We will be listing many of his photographs and slides over the course of the next several months. Some photographs are framed while others are not.
