Description: A great and somewhat rare nash halloween postcard . I think that the artist is Jaeger because of the border styling on this series. (Layers of imagry and the style of the owl in the white border. If anyone knows different I am glad to be corrected.) Series number 7 which has only 5 cards ( that I know of) instead of the usual six cards in most series. I am told there is a sixth, but in 20 years of looking I have yet to see it. Except for the mysterious 6th one, This one is the hardest one to get. I know because it took me years to get one. And then I got two in quick succession. This series has a superstition written as a poem at the bottom in the border. All of the characters are witches in these cards and I have nicknames for them. Cooking witch, backwards witch, gardening witch, Science witch and this one, the two white witch sisters. These ladies have white peacock feathers in their hats which is part of a spell they are weaving for lovers having a fight. They each have a little black cat who are as glad to see each other as these two gals are. They look like they are gossiping. The moon has a subtle face on it in the background And there is a bat flying above it. Excellent condition with minor corner wear only. The color is exceptional and the gold is very nice and still shiny. If it were not for the 1911 postmark you would hardly believe this was antique. I collect cards and as I upgrade my collection I sell my old one. I have been doing this about 17 years now. My collection has grown enough that many of the cards I sell are very good to excellent. I am always happy to combine shipping. Just put what you want in your cart and request combined from there. .
