Description: Offered is a pewter solje made by Astri Holthe (1917-1998) a Norwegian gold and silversmith, who after World War ll started to look into using less expensive metals for jewelry, candlesticks, vases, etc. She and her husband opened a factory in the BarbuValley which is now part of the town of Arendal, Norway. The solje is clearly stamped on the back with an "H" in a medallion and"Tinn Made In Norway". "Tinn" was the common term used in Norway for pewter before 1970s. The solje is 2" in length, 1 1/2" in width, with very nice details, a crown at the top, a heart holding 4 bright "gilt" saucers or plates. Pewter soljes are offered less frequently, require little care and look as nice as silver. Economy Ground postage with tracking will be $5.00 for anywhere in the United States.
