Description: Vintage Hilgar & Sons 6 Inch Divider. Measuring 6 11/16" long and this weighs 3 1/2 oz unboxed. Hilgar & Sons were a NYC importer of German tools and cutlery and were in business from 1858 until 1864. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is some frosting and a few spots of light pitting. The tips are good and close down to 3/16". The 3 finger (2+1) joint has a little mushrooming on the top, but holds position. This ain't pristine, but seeing as how it's at the least, 160 years old, well it sure ain't bad. A working and collectible divider for sure! Also, I smoke a pipe, drink whiskey, both cheap and good, and cuss more in a hour than most folks do in a month.
