Description: This pretty pansy pot was made by Waymon Cole, son of JB Cole, at JB Cole Pottery Seagrove, NC ca. 1950. A whimsical piece in rare turquoise glaze. Identification and date confirmed by NC pottery group on fb. Pansies are out of season but Photo #2 shows some wild asters displayed. A great way to show off vibrant colors from your garden spring through fall! (I also used it for holding paintbrushes and colored pencils)A bit of North Carolina history to brighten a window sill, table or office space.Note: this is a stinker to clean the interior. I use it for wild flowers for a day - pick them in the morning and compost them in the evening to prevent it from getting gunky inside. I gave it a gentle wash with warm water and dish soap, using an old round paint brush to poke through the holes and sweep round the sides and bottom which seemed to work pretty well. I love this piece and hope you'll agree it is well worth the extra bit of bother.Thank you for looking!*Only the item(s) described above is offered for sale. Any props are not included.* We re-use packaging materials, many of which are donated by friends or family. We recently had a problem with packaging donated by a smoker. We will be more careful in the future to bypass smoking households as sources for materials and check our sources to ensure they're pet allergen and smoke free.*Delicate items will be double-boxed.*We gently clean items, usually with a mild dish soap and water to remove dust and dirt.We do not normally scrub, polish or repair items for sale; if we do it will be noted in the item description.*Recommended care for your vintage, MCM or antique purchases: hand-wash; always place something between each stacked piece of dinnerware for storage in cupboard or cabinet to avoid scratches (relatively inexpensive felt rounds are available for this purpose, but even a paper towel or coffee filter will do); we use mild dishwashing liquid and microfiber cloth to clean our collectibles and to avoid scratching; always store sterling in bags if not in daily useāpaper (unless special anti-tarnish non-acidic and non-outgassing paper) will increase tarnishing. Do not store gold-trimmed items in paper which is abrasive and can wear away the gilt.
