Description: Kliban was a cartoonist for Playboy from the 60's until his death. Michelle Urry, Playboy's cartoon editor, saw his drawings of cats at his apartment and thought they should be compiled into a book, resulting in the 1975 book Cat. This led to several other books of cartoons ending with Advanced Cartooning in 1993. Since Cat, his cartoons have adorned many products including stickers, calendars, mugs, and t-shirts and they were at their peak of popularity in the early to mid 1980's. This is one of those mugs that were ubiquitous everywhere at the time but are hard to find now. This does show signs of wear with some crazing on the white glaze exterior (you have to look really close) but there is also one noticible chip (see photo). There are many pottery repair kits available so this can be fixed easily to be almost invisible, but this is being sold as is, and doesn't impact the use of the mug as the interior is unscathed. Buyer pays shipping, no returns.
