Description: The recipes in this cookbook were compiled and kitchen-tested by Pat Duran of Saginaw, Michigan. I don't know the exact age of the book, but estimate the late 1970's - 1980s based on the photo of Ms. Duran on the back cover. Pat Duran had a recipe column in the Saginaw Township Times for over 10 years and collected recipes from her readers. This book is the first volume of her published cookbooks and it feature her selection of choice midwest regional specialties and easy-to-prepare weeknight dishes. The cookbook is 238 pages in length. It is about 8.5 inches in height, 5.5 inches wide and approximately 3/4 inches thick, a nice small-medium size. It is not illustrated - it's a very no-frills publication of Ms. Duran's tastiest recipes from her column over the years. The recipes are notable for use of basic, common ingredients and straightforward preparation instructions. The book is in good vintage condition. The front and back covers are intact with some minor age-related scuffingand discoloration; the front cover has a crease in the lower right corner (see photo) and back cover has some discoloration along the bottom edge. The spine is in good condition with no cracks or broken teeth. All pages are secure - none loose. The pages are clean - no spots, stains, tears, or printing. The book apparently got wet at some point (probably a kitchen spill) and pages are slightly turned up on the right lower corner. See photos for additional details.
