The head moves due to the bobble-head construction (which is considered a premium feature - the technique of fitting the protrusion of the head into the hole in the body while turning the wheel is something only a skilled kokeshi craftsman can do). This is a large kokeshi doll, measuring approximately 13 inches in height and weighing 2 lbs (33 cm and 880 g). Head diameter is 3.9 inches (9.8 cm). It will be a visible accent in your home. The figurine is in excellent condition for its age. Dento, or "traditional", kokeshi have been produced mostly in the Tohoku district in northeastern Honshu, Japan.
