Description: Thrifting find. Vintage majolica aqua grapes cluster dish, marked "Portugal" on the back. Made of pottery or ceramic. It's about 9" wide and 9" tall and varies in depth from about 1 to 2 inches. I guess you could consider it a shallow bowl or a deep plate. The design is in deep relief. The grapes are a light turquoise or aqua blue, and the leaves are vivid green, red and brown with dark brown stems. There are molded-in open areas around the leaves. The backside is white. There are faint remnants of what were probably felt feet on the back in three places, as well as stilt marks from the glazing and firing process. There is allover fine crazing in the glaze, a couple of errant glaze specks, and no chips or cracks that I could find. I'm not knowledgeable about vintage majolica pieces, so I hope the photos will tell you what you want to know. Let me know if you have any questions, or would like to see more pictures of specific areas. Shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. I pack with care and lots of bubble wrap.
