Frames are made of heavy duty black plastic. They would make a perfect Steampunk accessory. They could also be used for working on very small, intricate details such as model making, jewelry, watches, carvings, ship in a bottle. etc. Both ear pieces had tape wrapped around the ends. I removed one side as the tape was old and had degraded. The other side still has the tape because it is solidly attached. I didn't want to do any damage trying to remove it. I don't believe the tape is hiding break. I think there used to be some sort of cushion attached where the tape was applied. FAST AND FREE SHIPPING !!
