Description: What a truly amazing duo to find together--a Ladies Home Journal ad for Pompeian Beauty Powder that is also a contest to title on of their yard long advertising prints--and the same yard long print featured in the print! The yard long image is by "famous colorist" Gene Pressler. It measures 27 inches long by 7 inches wide. This yard long is in very fragile condition and it has some tears and scratches and color fading. The yard long features an ad on the back for Pompeian beauty powder and it is dated 1926 on the front. The Ladies Home Journal ad (in a basic gold colored wood frame) is from September 1925 and it promotes a contest to title the yard long image: "$1,000 for the best titles." The ad indicates you could also buy the yard long for two dimes. The ad is in much better shape--some discoloration from age, but text and colors are clear and it contains no tears. The image being titled (and featured in the ad and on the yard long) is a masquerade style image, with a couple in costume and a mask dangles from the lady's wrist. Two truly lovely pieces of 1920s life! Each item I sell in my shop is unique, and I’m constantly on the hunt for the best vintage items I can find.
