Description: Here is a set of 87 quilt blocks in the Eight Pointed Star pattern, #3735a, as shown in the Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns compiled by Barbara Brackman. Pattern is categorized as an Eight-Pointed / 45 Degree Diamond Star and so named by the Ladies Art Company by their pattern #261. Design was also printed in the Kansas City Star under the name The Southern Star. Blocks are hand stitched and measure approximately 7" square. Fabrics are cottons in a blue / white and a pink / white check. Please note, the fabrics are not all the same size of check, but colors remain consistent. All of the setting squares and triangles are white or off white. These will need some work to square them for setting plus the piecing of the diamond points does not allow for a standard 1/4" seam allowance. The center seams do not meet in the middle and some of the edges are raveling. There is some staining to the muslin patches, please use the photo zoom feature to view any spotting or soiling. Item is for only the pictured blocks, no other materials, patterns, templates or instructions are included.
