Description: Vintage 8mm Revere Model 88 Movie Camera with Wollensak 2.5 12 1/2mm Lens & Case. Leather case is no longer connected but includes top and bottom parts. Only issue I can fine is the eye cup to the viewer has edge flaking. Untested with film but should work fine after a cleaning. See my 9 photos. Revere Model 88 (1940 era)An interesting WWII era film motion picture camera using so-called “double 8mm” film. In reality this was 16mm film, which the camera exposed only one side of. Then the film would be flipped and respooled and the other side exposed. Development labs would split the film in two and splice the ends together to produce one approx 4min long 8mm film. Manual everything – even the motor is spring wound.Film was “daylight loadable” so the reels must have been pretty light tight along the edges.A very common cinema camera from the early to mid 1940s. Extremely heavy camera, even for the time.Fast f/2.5 Wollensak lensAt 16fps you get about 2 minutes of film, flip the film over for another 2 minutes of recordingLens is fixedSpecificationsManufacturer: RevereCountry of Origin: USAMade in: Chicago, ILLIntroduced: 1940-46Camera Type: movieLens Mount: fixedFormat: Revere Double 8mm (16mm film split in two at development time)How to access film: open release on ;eft side of cameraBattery:NO - it is wound by spring
