Description: A vintage 6" tall Gullah sweetgrass and pine needle basket that has a round coiled body with a round lid. The handle has a rise of 5" and is made from 3 rows of woven coils. The basket with the handle measures 11 1/2" tall. The basket itself has a diameter of 5" and a depth of 5 1/2". There are some areas on this piece where the banding on the coils is coming undone. Picture # 8 is a close up of this on the backside of the basket, and picture #9 is a close up on the top of the handle.The lid fits on perfectly and has a woven latch on the front side, and a safety hold on the backside to keep it with the basket.
