Description: This vintage cigarette case from 1942 is a rare find for any collector of Tobacciana. The case comes with Sterling match box covers and is made in the United States . My research shows the case was made by Prill silver smiths in New York. Not sure about the Sterling matchbox covers. Case dimensions are 3.0 in x 2 5/8 in x 1.0 in. Case is Copper in heavy silver plate and weighs 5.0 Oz The cigarette case is in very nice shape with a lion engraved on the lid as well as Maker's Mark and date on the bottom. The hinge is silent and opens and closes easily. Match covers measure 1 5/8 x 1 1/8 x 5/8 Each cover weighs 5 oz Total weight of 2 oz Sterling Matchbox covers are engraved with a dog in the field as well as a sailing ship. Two- each.
