Description: Excellent Fine plus Condition, An all original complete Vintage Stanley Bailey No 4C corrugated sole smoothing plane. It is approx 9 inches long with a blade width of 2 inches. It has the features of a type 16 making the manufacture date between 1933 to 1941, about 90 years ago. The middle of the era of super high quality Bailey series planes produced by Stanley. Metal bed and all other metal parts are excellent, no cracks breaks, or repairs. I placed a straight edge along the sole and it appears perfectly flat and straight, no warping, see photo. Black jappaning finish is great more than 98 percent, pretty much all there. The premium Brazilian Rosewood handles are excellent and they look beautiful, no chips, breaks, cracks or repairs. The correct trademark blade has been freshly sharpened with the correct 25 degree bevel. The chip breaker edge has been flattened where is meets up with the blade, see last photo. This plane is in fine plus condition and shop ready! This plane has the important frog adjustment screw and All adjustments move and work smoothly. Fine collectible user.
