Description: PLEASE SEE VIDEO AS THE TIP OF THE PENDULUM ROD IS SLIPPED UNDER A PLASTIC HOLDER AT TOP AND YOU HAVE TO SLIDE IT OUT TO ACTIVATE THE METRONOME. This is a wind-up mechanical metronome that covers the entire range of speeds, from 40 beats per minute to 208 per minute. This is an excellent tool for musicians looking to improve their timing and rhythm. Height is six inches and width is just under 3 inches. - PLEASE NOTE ALSO THAT THE KEY TO WIND UP THE METRONOME IS BEING STORED IN A HOLE IN THE FRONT OF THE BODY. (SEE PHOTO 18 & 19) TO WIND UP, YOU REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE HOLE IN THE FRONT OF THE BODY, AND SCREW IT INTO THE SIDE. - THE METRONOME WORKS PERFECTLY AND THE SLIDE ON THE CHROME PENDULUM IS EASY TO SLIDE. THIS IS A VERY VINTAGE VERSION AS THE PLASTIC BODY STATES "MADE IN GERMANY" (PHOTO 12) AND THE PENDULUM READS "MADE IN W. GERMANY" (PHOTO 14). THIS SUGGESTS THAT THIS METRONOME IS CIRCA 1950, GIVE OR TAKE 4 YEARS. It would mean that they continued to use the black cast plastic bodies from prior to 1945 while using newer chrome pieces post war.) - THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOLDED AND IN GERMAN AND ENGLISH. THERE IS A SPLIT IN THE INSTRUCTION PAGE ALONG A FOLD LINE NEAR THE MIDDLE. (PHOTO 7 & 8) - THE BOX IS COMPLETE AND WITHOUT SPLITS BUT IT DOES SHOW SURFACE WEAR AND THERE IS CRUSHING TO THE LOWER CORNER. (PHOTO 3,4,5, 6) The box also states "Made in Germany" - THE PLASTIC CASE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION BUT DOES SHOW LIGHT SCUFFING AND SCRATCHES. (PHOTOS 9-13 & 15) - FINALLY, THE CHROME SURFACE ON THE FACE SHOWS MINOR DISCOLORING. There is very light surface rust, much of which will come off with a cleaning attempt. I did not attempt to clean and I didn't even notice it until I started doing a close inspection for this listing. A bit of polish would likely clean most of it up. THIS IS A 70 PLUS YEAR OLD METRONOME IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER. I don't love the way you are supposed to open and close the cover, simply by popping it off at an angle, but it works and has caused no damage to the plastic. This piece was made before they started adding the word "piccolo" to the body. THIS IS A GREAT PIECE FOR ITS AGE AND FOR ITS COMPLETENESS. If you choose the flat rate padded envelope, the piece will be boxed first.PLEASE USE ZOOM FUNCTION ON ALL PHOTOS AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. diana50-medical
