Description: Paper brochure advertising Camellia Motel, 53-55 Benning Road, Columbus, Georgia telephone 687-2330, located at the traffic circle just outside the gates of Fort Benning. There were 152 rooms, each with 2 bedrooms, a living room and dinette, private bath and furnished kitchen. The cost was $7.50 for one person (changed to $8) and other prices up to a family for $12.50 (changed to $14). Credit cards accepted-notice that Mastercard and Visa not yet listed. In the section saying who this motel is "Ideal for" woman are not considered for business purposes, as it says it is ideal for "Commercial Men" and "Professional Men retreat". I also see where this motel is the home of the Miss Georgia beauty Pageant. Brochure measures when closed 9 3/8" x 4" and fully opened it is 9 3/8" x 8". Undated but with the low room price, no area code in the telephone number and other indicators, my guess is that this is from the late 1960's. You see from my photos that the only markings on the brochure are in the increase in room rates. In very good condition-no tears or creases. From a pet free and smoke free home-the item has no odor. Only one like it on ebay.For brochures like this I do not use mail tracking and that helps save the buyer $3 in unnecessary postal expense.
