I vacuumed this item and stored it in the freezer for 5 days to be sure there were no pesky moths or creatures, but I did not wash it as to not damage or shrink the vintage wool fibers. • Although it has had periodic use this item is in good shape. It was owned by a very interesting lady who was on the rodeo circuit in the early 60’s. She collected many wonderful items from her time traveling and participating in rodeo, as well as owning and showing horses. After that time, items that are not new with tags are carefully laundered for freshness and sanitation. Then line dried and steamed with 100% natural therapeutic grade lavender essential oil in distilled water. Items that are “NEW WITH TAGS” are also steamed with the same lavender essential oil in distilled water for freshness and sanitation. I want EVERY ITEM that I send to market to be clean and fresh for my clients. Lavender, at times, can be a powerful scent for some. I prefer a natural lavender to the chemical spray that is far too pungent and that can also ruin vintage items. I take great care in the textiles that I provide to my clients and I would never want any weirdness to be in the textiles, so I take the time to be sure all items are clean and sanitized and free an any possible contaminant.
