Description: WALLACE BEERY SIGNED AND INSCRIBED TO GEORGE STOUT ORIGINAL STUDIO PHOTO 8x 10 1933 Wallace Beery as "Pancho Villa" in full costume for the Academy Award winner nominated fillm "Viva Villa". The movie was shot on location in Mexico in 1933, and released in 1934. Also starred Fay Wray, and Leo Carrillo. This is not a copy, it is the original studio photograph, numbered and dated 1933 in the negative, lower right. Wallace Beery signed this original photograph in black fountain pen and inscribed it to George W. Stout. Stout and Beery met and became close friends around 1930. George W. Stout started his career as a production manager in 1918 for the silent movies. He continued his work on into the late 1930s working on the early Tarzan movies, and eventually becoming a producer. Stout survived Beery by many decades. Wallace Beery's inscription and autograph are in black fountain pen and are guaranteed authentic and original to this photo. Beery signed and inscribed this photo sometime in 1934. Beery's autograph was much more ornate in the early days, especially when signing to friends. The photograph is the glossy original, very good condition. It was originally framed many decades ago, and we removed it from the original frame and mat to conserve the condition. There are some very light and faint traces of a line along portions of the right and lower perimeter, where the mat formally was. Otherwise, this photograph is in great condition considering the age, and still very glossy.
