Description: Handmade by renowned folk artists and carvers, Walter and June Gottshall of Reinholds, Pennsylvania, this great birdcage is home to a folk art Pennsylvania bird, the distelfink, the Pennsylvania Dutch word for a gold finch. The turnings and bird were carved and painted by Walter and June in their home in 1992. It is rare because of the complexity of its creation and is now a vintage piece of art. It is brightly hand painted in typical Pennsylvania Dutch folk art colors and is in excellent condition, especially for its age. It is signed WJG, and dated “92.
