Description: Specially tailored for the Wasatch front, this mix is drought, heat, and cold tolerant and restores native vegetation. Vast meadows used to blanket the front, especially around the extensive waterways that feed the Great Salt Lake. Replacing lawn is the best use for this mix but it an excellent choice for overall increasing biodiversity and creating mini ecosystems within yards or on business's property that are already a wildlife/native yard. After establishment, this mix can be left alone with little or no water (recommended), mowed and watered as you like, or integrated into a rock garden. Every single plant in this mix is Native to Wasatch Front. This is full of cool season grasses and spring wildflowers that do best when planted outdoors March until May. Each packet will cover approximately 2,500+ square feet. Max coverage is about 4,000 sq ft but the mix is formulated for healthy density at 2,500-3,000 sq ft. Mostly perennials, there are a couple of reseeding annuals that are great for hummingbirds and other pollinators. 4 packets will fully cover 1 acre of land. The shrub add on includes drought tolerant shrubs, such as Low sagebrush, Nevada ephedra, and Utah serviceberry. Little Bluestem and Blue Grama are warm season grasses for some good variety and green grasses until it snows. The grasses tolerate traffic, especially Blue Grama and Sheep Fescue - those are regularly used in drought tolerant lawn mixes, but the wildflowers will not tolerate trampling at all. This mix will attract and help grow and start entire ecosystems. Insects, songbirds, birds of prey, upland birds and deer will love the native buffet. Save water, benefit insects and wildlife, farm carbon, control erosion and heal your soil. Included seed: Percentage is determined by the amount of sq ft covered by the whole mix. Higher percentage will yield higher density of that particular plant in the meadow.
