Description: For offer, a genuine and original French model 1877 water bottle WW1 era. Complete with it's original leather carry strap. These water bottles usually had an 'Horizon Blue' or 'Tan' colour wool cover which was laced in place, this one has an olive green painted finish. Interestingly, and something I have never come across before, this one appears to have a makers mark on the neck of the wide opening spout, of either "JA" or "FA", see the last two photographs above. Capacity is 2 litres I believe. The condition is very good, with no sign of corrosion or split seams, and the leather strap is still supple.
