As bayonets were typically long and heavy, some soldiers ended up privately purchasing various styles of hunting knives. Throughout WW2, numerous manufacturers produced these types of knives, available for both private purchase and military issue. Made of bakelite and steel, this Puma German Combat Fighting Knife is in EXCELLENT condition considering its age. The blade is slightly pitted, as you can see in the photos, but it is not as pronounced as the photos suggest (camera flash causing this effect). The blade does show some marks, stains, and wear, but it does not detract. The scabbard is original to this knife, and is missing the clip.
