Description: World War II class photo of Company 183-42, Regiment 1, Battalion 2 at the U. S. Naval Training Station in Farragut, Idaho. The photo was taken April 14, 1943, in the middle of the war. There were 133 sailors in this basic training class. Farragut was an odd place for a Navy training station, but it is on southern edge of Lake Pend Oreille in Northern Idaho. The photo measures 19-1/2" by 10" and is in decent condition with some minor discoloration at the lower left and a smudge of some sort in the upper right. It has been rolled up for years and has no rips or creases. Farragut Naval Training Station was in existence for 30 months, during which 293,000 sailors received their basic training at the facility. It is now known as Farragut State Park. I ship within 1 day of receiving payment and am happy to combine purchases to save on shipping fees.
