Description: Original WW2 German Army map which once formed part of a regional dossier of important military, industrial and municipal establishments. (The upper margin states "Nur für den Dienstgebrauch", which is equivalent to "RESTRICTED" in British military terms). It relates to the NORTH EAST of ENGLAND and provides a fantastic overview of the locations which would have been key targets for invading German ground forces. The stretch of the East coast covered runs from GRIMSBY to HARTLEPOOL. The targets are shown as symbols (with a basic key in the lower margin), and the most important targets have been numbered and individually described using corresponding keys in the side margins. Where small rectangles are shown around certain areas, this indicates that they are dealt with in more detail on smaller maps within the original dossier. (At the time of listing, I do actually have some of these other maps listed separately.) Scale 1:250,000. A February 1942 printing of an earlier Battle of Britain dated edition. In great condition.
