WW2 US ARMY M1 HELMET FRONT SEAM FIXED BALE LOOPS LINER FIRST LIEUTENANT LT

Description: Original WWII US M1 US Army 1st lieutenant helmet. Front seam, fixed loops manufactured by McCord with 253A heat stamp (September 1942). Original OD3 chinstraps w/ early brass hardware. Comes with original high-pressure liner with OD3 suspension manufactured by Westinghouse. Original nape band and sweatband. No leather chinstrap. The helmet has a 1st lieutenant painted on the front of the helmet. Note that this was made with silver paint rather than the usual white paint. Identified with last name 'Gates' on the liner neck strap, and initials 'KAG' in pencil inside.
