Description: This is an original WW2 vintage "Third Bond Loan - Back The Attack" 2 color silkscreened poster from the early 1940's. I believe this is very rare, as I could not find another image of this anywhere. A couple of well known war poster dealers (thank you) believe that this was produced locally somewhere for a War Bond drive, as it does not have a U.S. Government credit. I'm guessing it may have been from Fort Wayne, Indiana (see below).Striking art by Ted Halmi. All I could find about Ted Halmi was a 1931 photo of him as an artist at the Palace Theater in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This measures 21 1/8" wide x 26 5/8" high. It is silkscreen printed on cardboard. You can see red and blue ink on the back, apparently from where the freshly printed posters were stacked, instead of completely drying on racks. The condition is fine overall. The center image is excellent, with vibrant colors. There are 3 tack holes along the top edge, and 3 staple marks on the left side. 3 corners are slightly bent, and there are several scuff marks on edges. This will be packed well, sandwiched in cardboard, and then padded in a larger box. I've put it on cardboard, with acid free paper behind, and acid free corners and tape to hold it in place. I've covered it with cellophane as well for shipping, which you would not want to keep for long term storage.Shipped promptly with your choice of USPS or UPS.Please contact me with any questions or for further info. Thanks for your interest!
