To my bidders: For years I have done business on eBay using the name: gpstorageco*. The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives. This WWII Chinese Air Force Dagger belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away. He set aside vintage military items over the years. This dagger and the other brought home with it were on display with a grouping of items that my friend had picked up from an American Army Air Forces pilot who served in the CBI theatre (see photos). Other than where my friend obtained it I am unfamiliar with Chinese WWII items. This dagger measures 14 inches overall in the scabbard and shows use & storage wear (see photos). The blade remains bright with a few very small spots of plating lift (see photos). The handle fitting (bird shaped) appears brass as does the scabbard fitting to the base (see photos). The collar, crossguard and throat fittings appear brass as well (see photos). The grip appears to have a type of paper covering that remains mostly in place with some losses (see photos). There are no dings or dents to the scabbard body but there is some spotting to the body that may somewhat clean (see photos). One side of the birds head has a red stone eye (might be coral - see photos). This is a WWII American CBI Vet bringback dagger. Not being a Chinese militaria collector I don't have the ability to properly price it but I see them on eBay selling for $1000 up so I'll start there.
