Description: Thank you for viewing our listings. This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild. Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices. The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Roman Gruber Roman was a Sergeant in an Elite Unit and was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Infantry Assault Badge and a Black Wound Badge. He fell after 5 years of service on October 25, 1944 in the East at the age of 25. Please check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
