The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Leopold Hörletzeder Leopold was a Party Member and Corporal in the Air Force. He was captured on the Western Front and passed in an American POW Camp on August 28, 1944 at the age of 22. Please check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
