Description: Thank you for viewing our listings. This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild. Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices. The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Wendel Gross Wendel was a Staff Corporal in the motorized Infantry and is wearing what appears to be a Black Wound Badge and the Silver Infantry Assault Badge.
