Description: antique original WWII WESTERN BABY SHARK KNIFE a diminutive version of the famous United States Navy World War Two SHARK KNIFE about the same as the USN issue MK II Decent collectible condition The plastic cross guard appears to have a slight / stable hairline crack , And there are a few very tiny marks from honest period wear on the sides of the pommel The stacked leather grip is very good ( with just a slightest splotch of white paint -easily cleaned off if desired ) The blade shows light signs of sharpening, and cleaning , no ugly or deep grinder marks The markings are clear and readable “WESTERN BOULDER COLO. “ with the patent number the blades finish is mostly bright , from period use and cleaning Just minor signs of darkening The sheath is in good condition , a bit dry , with a slight patina it shows it’s age , yet is still flexible, no rot or damage With a working strap snap button A soldiers name was apparently blocked out with ink , and “ EDDIE & HIS DOG LADDIE” was added underneath a scarce baby shark knife The cross guards were notoriously prone to breakage finding a decent example is getting very difficult today these were very popular with navy and marine fighter pilots don’t pass it up !
