The material features a robust yet lightweight 1000-denier Cordura nylon, with polyester fibers twisted into a yarn called X-PLY arranged diagonally (bias direction) to minimize the fabric's tendency to stretch diagonally, which is a common weakness in woven materials. Furthermore, a very thin PET film made from the same polyester material is laminated (bonded) using a patented process, sealing the weave and preventing water intrusion from rain or sweat.
